With a global influence, its farm-to-table menu changes with the season. While known for its incredible menu, Ubuntu is also loved for its friendly staff and pet-friendly environment. Must-try items include the Brazilian Cheese Bread, the Heirloom Tomato & Whipped Burrata Salad, and the Beef Short-Ribs Tacos. Guests also enjoy finishing their experience here with a glass of wine and delicious dessert while watching the stunning sunset.

Things to Do

Alamitos Heights has many different places for residents to explore during their leisure time. Often folks can be found on the beautiful public golf course at Recreation Park 18, or "Big Rec." This classic Billy Bell-designed course is one of Southern California's oldest and most popular courses. Recreation Park's clubhouse is a historical landmark set amongst the trees and beautiful grounds.  
 
Alamitos Heights locals can also be found swimming in the highly-rated Colorado Lagoon. The Lagoon is a popular place to gather, as in addition to sandy beach swimming and wetlands, this sunny area attracts picnickers, families, and more. Alamitos Heights is also very close to  Cal State University Long Beach, where the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Gardens are located. The gardens are very popular, and for a small donation, folks may choose to take a walk through the meticulously tended zen garden and then stroll through the picture-perfect extensive Japanese garden with its waterfall, bridges, and koi pond. The Japanese Gardens are also a fabulous wedding venue and a peaceful spot that attracts people from all around the Alamitos Heights  area, and is a must-see location for new residents.

The schools in Alamitos Heights are highly rated, often Blue Ribbon winners. Parents in the area can consider Lowell Elementary School, which boasts of a collaborative parent/teacher approach and a technology-driven curriculum, and the Will Rogers Middle School, which strongly emphasizes academics, athletics, enrichment activities, and caring teaching staff.
